How To Make Carts

  1. First you need the right equipment.  This setup by Four E is 90% of everything you need.  Don’t go cheaper, you’ll suffer the consequences.  You don’t need to get anything more expensive than this unless you’re in a commercial venture.  This setup is perfect.  You also need to buy:
    • Wide-mouth Pyrex glass beakers
    • Lab spoons/spatulas
    •  Pyrex glass syringes with a size/gauge assortment of stainless steel Luer-lock syringe tips to account for the different sizes of carts out there.  One good variety pack on Amazon is all you will need.
  2. Finally, you need organic MCT oil that you can find on Amazon and artificial terpenes if you’re not using real terpenes.  Those guys in the link have been around a while and the terps taste good.  Mix ratio: 5-10% MCT Oil + 5-10% Terpenes + 80-90% your oil.  Definitely be sure to experiment with these ratios to obtain best results.


  • The equipment reads temperature in Celsius.  DON’T LET THE TEMPERATURE GO ABOVE 65 DEGREES CELCIUS.  Should you find the temperature “running away” and approaching this temperature, just pull the beaker off the heat pad with an oven mitt.
  • If you burn your oil, you can’t unburn it and it will taste terrible.  The entire batch will be ruined = Expensive mistake.
  • Mixing oil is comparable to cooking a good chili or stew.  Chili benefits from cycles of cooling down and reheating.  The more cycles, the more the flavor gets locked into the chili ingredients.  Instead of immediately filling your carts after mixing, try letting the oil cool for at least 2-24 hours.  If you have extra time and want to make super tasty and connoisseur carts, repeat this cycle as many times as you can before filling your carts.
  • After you fill your carts, do not stand them straight up or down in the foam containers or boxes/packaging.  Instead, lay them on their sides so the oil does not leak into the top or bottom of the cart.  Try to always store carts on their sides.
